Stage Notes 2018 Summer Musical - A CHORUS LINE

Published: Wednesday, 10 January 2018

Stage Notes is proud to present A CHORUS LINE on July 19, 20, and 21 at The Dulles State Office Building Auditorium. A CHORUS LINE tells of the poignant ambitions of professional Broadway performers as they bare their souls and put their lives “on the line” at an audition for an unnamed Broadway musical. It is a celebration of the chorus dancers– those valiant, over-dedicated, highly trained performers who are the backbone of America Musical Theater. The 1975 original production won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Musical. It currently stands as the 6th longest running Broadway musical in history.

Stage Notes will be presenting A CHORUS LINE – HIGH SCHOOL EDITION which is a full-length version of the musical, adapted for performance by high school students with family audiences. Every aspect of the show has been developed specifically for high school performers: dialogue and content are age-appropriate, dance sequences are of a length befitting high school dancers, and allowances are made to feature actors of any race or ethnicity. The materials have been prepared with the authors’ approval. We are excited to share this iconic piece of musical theater with our students, while maintaining a level of comfort for our family audiences who have come to look forward to attending our July performances each summer.
