Do you hear the people sing?” Stage Notes is proud to present Les Miserables. Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Miserables holds the record as the longest-running musical in the world and continues to thrill and captivate audiences in every corner of the globe.  Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Miserables is a treasured tale about the survival of the human spirit.

Our theatrical budget for Les Miserables is $20,000.00. The budget includes royalty rights to perform the production, rental of the Les Miserables scripts, vocal scores, and orchestration, rental of The JCC Sturtz Theater, rental of costumes, hiring of a sound technician, and the cost for building our set. Also included in our budget are production costs such as posters, tickets, and programs. Stage Notes’ goal is to have Les Miserables paid for by opening night so that proceeds from ticket sales can truly benefit The Watertown Urban Mission. We are excited to be producing the world’s most loved musical and hope to make a substantial financial donation to The Watertown Urban Mission.

Through this new partnership with the Community Foundation, they will formalize their community grantmaking and also provide donors with the opportunity to make tax-deductible gifts to support their work and mission. “Stage Notes is committed to a long-term relationship of supporting the needs of our community. What better way to ensure performances with a purpose than to partner with the Northern New York Community Foundation? We respect their commitment of connecting donors who care with causes that matter,” said Michele Glover, Stage Notes board president.

Two funds will be established at the Community Foundation, one for grantmaking and one to help build a permanent endowment fund. “As a Community Foundation, we have all the systems in place to help organizations maximize their impact on the community, both through the important charitable work they do, but also by helping them build long-term capacity to continue to fulfill their missions. We are honored that a group so committed to giving back is now an official member of our family of partners,” said Rande Richardson, Community Foundation executive director.
