Stage Notes Presents

A Retrospective

2009 – 2018 · Ten Seasons

Remembering our first ten seasons — the students, families, volunteers, and audiences who turned a small dream into Performance With A Purpose.

Looking ahead: Ticia & Kyle will retire in 2028 — join us in celebrating where it all began.

The Story Behind The Story

Where It All Began

Stage Notes: A Retrospective 2009–2018 celebrates the first decade of Performance With A Purpose — honoring the students, families, volunteers, and supporters whose belief in our mission helped transform a small dream into a thriving, vibrant community. Every production on the pages that follow holds a special place in our hearts.

— Ten Seasons, Twelve Shows —

Season One

Once On This Island

Where our story began.

Season Two

Grease

A sold-out celebration filled with energy and excitement.

"We Go Together!"
Season Three

Bye Bye Birdie

Classic musical theater fun.

Season Four

Godspell

One of those magical theatrical experiences we will never forget — and a closing night that turned into a true cry fest as we said goodbye to a remarkable senior class.

Season Five

The Mystery of Edwin Drood

Mystery, comedy, and audience participation, with our students sharing the stage with everyone's favorite thespian, Dan Davis.

Season Six

Les Misérables

A reminder of what our students could accomplish when given the opportunity to dream big. The music, the story, and the power of that production made it an unforgettable milestone.

Season Seven

Into the Woods

An introduction to the wonderful — and sometimes wonderfully complicated — world of Sondheim, challenging our students to dig deeper into story, character, music, and meaning.

Season Eight

Elf, Jr.

Holiday magic and one unforgettable Buddy — Parker Leikam!

Season Eight

Nice Work If You Can Get It

A reminder that dancing, music, and laughter are the best medicine.

Season Nine · A Building Year

Working

Seeing the Class of 2016 move on was a big change, and this season became a time to grow, rethink, and continue shaping what Stage Notes could become. Working reminded us that theater doesn't always have to be about the biggest characters or the biggest productions — sometimes it's simply about telling real stories about real people.

Season Nine

High School Musical

An entirely different kind of energy, with a message that seemed to capture Stage Notes perfectly.

"We're All In This Together."
Season Ten · 10th Anniversary

A Chorus Line

A message that felt especially powerful as we celebrated Stage Notes' 10th anniversary in 2018. The show asks performers to reveal themselves — their stories, their dreams, their disappointments, and the reasons they keep coming back to the stage. David Simmons' choreography brought its heart and physicality to life, making it a particularly special chapter in our history.

Curtain Call

More Than a Look Back

Stage Notes: A Retrospective 2009–2018 is more than a look back at the shows we produced — it is a celebration of the people who gave them purpose, the community that gave them life, and the memories that will remain part of the Stage Notes story forever.

Behind every production were students who took risks, families who supported them, volunteers who gave countless hours, and audiences who believed in what we were building.

From our earliest performances to the traditions that helped shape who we are, join us as we honor the people and productions that laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Here's to the next chapter.
